Scott is a highly experienced Senior Business Executive and Brand Builder who is passionate about helping grow small businesses.  Most recently Scott has been the owner operator of Strategic Focus Solutions which provides a wide variety of business development platforms, including visioning, strategic planning, operational build out, and sales &marketing development.  Scott has worked with and led a number of companies including serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Better Botanicals, Nightingale Naturals (Vijon) and Solavie. 

Previously he was a partner and Chief Operating Officer at Zia Natural Skincare where he led the company in doubling its revenues and profits during a three year period, and into the #1 brand position in natural skincare.  His stint there culminated in a successful sale to Hain-Celestial in 2005.

Short gained early industry experience in the natural and organic marketplace during a nine year stint with Tom’s of Maine.  During this period he helped grow the company’s revenues by over 100% serving in a number of roles, culminating with his Senior Vice President of Business Development role.  Working directly with the founders he was able to lead the creation and development of sustainable best business practices that was paramount in helping the company be successfully acquired by Colgate-Palmolive in 2006.  

Short began his career in Sales and Training Development with Colgate-Palmolive.  He was promoted three times in his early years and saw that his talents and passion for helping others were well suited for smaller, more entrepreneurial environments.

Scott holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Management – Marketing, from the University of Nevada.  He is active on the Board of Directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, volunteers with the local Humane Society, and is a partner in Hope Community.
